Local guides say Township of Washington allows a container in the street with a permit ($25 for 5 days). We confirm that with the borough before every delivery. Whether a driveway container needs paperwork in Township of Washington is not published; we confirm that before delivery, and most jobs there go on the driveway. See every town's rule.
Bulk pickup versus a dumpster. What Township of Washington collects at the curb: Bulk/garden debris pickup by zone (Mon Zone 1 through Fri Zone 5) in season. That works for a couch. A whole garage, a roof or a renovation is a container job.
The town code requires dumpsters exposed to stormwater to be covered and not discharge to the storm sewer; enforced by Police Department and/or Construction Official.
Compact 3.0 sq mi township of 9,285 residents (2020) that boomed after the Garden State Parkway opened in the 1950s, with houses as old as the 1745-50 Seven Chimneys.
Checked against Township of Washington sources on 2026-09-10: ecode360.com, ecode360.com, www.twpofwashington.us. Rules change; we confirm before every delivery.
Most homes need the 12. Most renovations and roofs need the 20. Both from our own fleet.

Usually not for a container on your own driveway, though a few nearby towns do ask for one and Township of Washington has not published its driveway rule, so we confirm it with the borough before delivery. Street placement in Township of Washington needs approval from the borough, and the rule varies by town. Call us and we'll tell you exactly what Township of Washington requires before the truck is scheduled.
Often the same day or the next morning, depending on where the trucks are. We're based in Westwood, Bergen County, and our drivers are in Township of Washington regularly. Call (201) 913-9400 and we'll give you a real time.
We put wood boards under the rails on every delivery, at no charge, and set the container down gently rather than dragging it. Asphalt, pavers, concrete and gravel drives in Township of Washington all get the same treatment. When we pick up, we sweep the spot.
For an attic, garage or single-room job the 12-yard (12 x 8 x 4 ft, 2,000 lb included) is usually right and fits a one-car driveway. Whole-house cleanouts, roofs and renovations take the 20-yard (16 x 8 x 6 ft, 4,000 lb included). Both come with 14 days. Describe the job on the phone and we'll tell you which.
