How Rockland County works for a dumpster.

Rockland County is organized differently from Bergen: most addresses are hamlets inside one of three large towns, so New City, Nanuet and Congers follow Clarkstown's code, and Pearl River, Tappan and Blauvelt follow Orangetown's. Villages like Nyack and Suffern have their own. Two separate layers apply: the county sets who may haul and where the debris goes (a Rockland County Department of Health hauler permit, which we hold, and Rockland Green's disposal facilities), while where a container may sit is decided town by town and village by village. We confirm that placement rule with the town or village before your delivery is scheduled.

What Rockland County will and won't take from you

Rockland Green, the county solid waste authority, runs the transfer stations, including Hillburn at 50 Baler Boulevard, where hand unloading of small loads is permitted and payment is by credit card at the scale house. That works for a pickup-truck load. A renovation, a roof or a full cleanout is a container job.

Household hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, propane and the like, goes through the county program, not into a dumpster. Load everything else into the container and we haul it.

Dirt, concrete, masonry fill, tires, asbestos and fuels are not accepted in our containers. Wood, drywall, roofing, insulation, carpet, tile, furniture, metal and yard debris all are.

Rockland County dumpster questions.

Do you deliver to every town in Rockland County?

To every town listed on this page, and to most others in the county. If your town is not on the list, call (201) 913-9400 and ask. We'll tell you straight whether we serve it.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Rockland County?

Usually not for a container on your own driveway, but 1 Rockland County town does require one even on private property (marked 'Permit even on driveway' on this page), and several others have not published a driveway rule, so we confirm before every delivery. Street placement depends on the town: some allow it with a permit, some don't allow it at all. The list on this page shows what we know for each town.

How fast can you deliver in Rockland County?

Often the same day or the next morning. Our trucks are in Rockland County every day, minutes from the state line, and the trucks are out in these towns every day. Call and we'll give you a real time, not a window.

What does a Rockland County rental include?

14 days, 2,000 lb on the 12-yard or 4,000 lb on the 20-yard, driveway protection boards, sweep-up at pickup, and $25 off if we're late. Overage is $130 per ton and is explained before you load.
